rough ending to 2025 w/fsu football

As it sits 01/01/2026, we have 23 guys who have entered the transfer portal. While some I understand others I honestly don’t get. What is the reasoning behind these guys wanting to leave? Is it our lack of NIL? Is it terrible record we have bolstered for the last two seasons? Is the inability to develop younger guys? I don’t know what it is but god is it getting tough to continue to support this team but more importantly this staff. While I was a big Norvell guy when he came to the program the luster has all but run out at this point.. There is only so many transfer guys that can cover up the holes on this team and staff. Don’t get me wrong I LOVED JT, Keon Coleman, Jared Verse, Earl Little but now we aren’t getting those caliber of guys and we suck dick. Constant second tier transfers and the inability to sign 5 stars.

I can’t sit hear and act like I know the solutions to problems because if I did I wouldn’t be typing a shitty blog to no one. One thing I do know and one thing we did do a pretty job with is that we have younger guys in our program that we have played early often. On the flip side of this we have not developed a quarterback since Jordan Travis and even he was a transfer although young when he came over still a transfer. Right now as we look at the program we have a guy in Kevin Sperry that could be the answer but even that we don’t truly know because of our playing Brock Glenn in certain situations where Sperry should have jumped in. Although we have lost Boggs the remaining crew with Deuce Robinson returning is one that could help a young qb mature quickly.

What would I like to see as an armchair college GM? We need to make a splash with a few big time transfer whether that be Cam Coleman, Omarion Miller, Nick Marshall on the outside or top Offensive Lineman with the addition of a solid Linebacker. The second tier transfers are not working out. We need to develop the young talent we do have with the Desir twins, McCoy, Sperry, etc. that is how we create a dominant team for a few years the old school way. Now don’t get me wrong I am not a anti-transfer portal homer just an alumni and fan that has seen our current model not work.

Let’s see how we do as we progress to the new season. Unfortunately, I will not be in the optimistic train which pains me to say..
